yesterday a cherry tree in my yard needed to come down

bow saw and chainsaw did most of the work

i was using my BAS for limbing out the 1-2 inch branches, one swing, one branch off

the work went faster than using loppers...

one of the branches was ~7 inches in diameter
200 or so wacks later it was cut thru

then i got a pice of paper wrote on it and cleanly sliced the paper with the BAS

nice knife/hatchet!

Nice pics.

A few weeks ago I used my 18" AK for a simliar task. I stood a log up to split. The log was about 3.5" in diameter and 3 feet long. I was having fun so I concentrated my chi powers and did a karate chop to the top of the log.

I heard this loud "CRACK, SPLIT!" and the log was parted neatly in half. Upon closer inspection, the wood had a dry rot in the core. It was not due to my supernatural powers at all. Sure brought a smile to my face though.

Goat,

Did you do that with your hand or with the khukhuri in your hand?

I always believed hands were not made for hitting but holding things for hitting.

Uh this was with the khukuri. If I could chop wood with my bare hands, I wouldn't need a khukuri hahaha

So far - I still failed in my trial to perform a clean chop a toothpick stick with my bare hands ... Nepal ho!

Thanks for the pictures doc.

Reminds me of the yard duty my Gelbu Special did for me. These HI Khukuris do make some chores a lot of fun! I have to remind myself, some trees need to be left in place.

If this is what the BAS model looks like, I cannot wait to get my HI WWII model..

Tallwingedgoat, what do you think created that dry rot in the core? It was your chi! You didn't see any dry rot before you exerted your chi, did you??? Oh, ye of little faith ...
