1. Anorexic Basic 4 LE - xxx$237xxx - Dropped to $220.
This knife has been used a little but never abused. The satin coating is scratched and scuffed, most of which was done by the sheath.
I can't recall the maker of the sheath, but it is very well made. I've worn this knife Ranger style upside down on my pack's strap and have never had any fear that it would pop out, even when covering rough terrain fast.
This knife is the sharpest Busse I've ever owned. I have yet to sharpen or tough it up and it is still shaving sharp.
The Anorexic Basic 4 LE is one of my last Busses for a reason. Mix a perfect handle in any grip with the perfect blade profile. Make it out of a thin - Full Flat Ground piece of INFI and add Beef's scary sharp convex zero edge and you get the perfect 4" blade. I can honestly say that the Basic 4 LE is the best blade in its size range that I've ever used. I truly hope that this ready-to-go slicer goes to a good home.
2. NMFSH - Jungle Green w/ Black Canvas Micarta Handshaped at Busse. - $557
Comes with a sheath made by Tom Kanik, a well know, long-time HOG. It is hand sewn and uses high grade leather. It has a great drop-loop belt loops with snaps to remove the rig without removing your belt. It also has two leather straps on the back in order to attach pouches or a leg-strap. Maybe if Tom sees this thread, he can comment a bit on it. It is a good sheath with an unmistakable HOG stamped front and center.
The blade was used once to chop a bit of soft wood. There is a 1/4" of smoothing around the edge, but the blade and handle are perfect otherwise. It's pretty darn close to being brand new.
The balance and thin grind make this blade a formidable chopper. The metal behind the edge is thinner than the TGLB, giving you an idea of how this blade can be .32" and still bite so deep. Because of this, I would pick this blade over all of the BMs that I've owned and used (all But the original SHBM.)
