I think what he went to imply was that you need to get one (or some) while you can during that 10 day window. After that, you'll be at the mercy of the re-sellers and the exchanges.

So do you request a specific number? For example, two knives please and you get whatever the count is currently at, or do you say two knives numbers 10 & 43? Just curious how it goes down.. Oh and for you guys who dont want to stay up that late go into microsoft outlook and: Delay delivery of a message. But as microsoft e-mail $ucks I would stay up and send it.. wonder how many times the forum will be refreshed on thursday night?

No you do not request a number - you just place your order anytime after the "go" for up to 10 business days and you will get a knife with a number based on how quick you place your order - if you order quick, you will get a lower number, if you order on day 9 you will get a higher number...
I know people have been able to request numbers, but its not guaranteed you get it, especially if its a low number, which may be highly desirable from a collector standpoint. But hey, you have nothing to lose if you ask for a specific number - the worst thing that happens is they say no.
The only reason to stay up Thursday night and keep refreshing is if you want a LOW number, otherwise, dont stress and just send your email within the 10 day period.

Just curious - how many collectors are actually desirous of low numbered blades? I understand the concept - Im just wondering if this is a huge deal for a lot of folks, or just a few.
Also, have low numbered blades commanded higher prices in the secondary market? If so, why?
Sure, Id like all of my serial numbered blades to have my preferred number on them (22 if you had not guessed), but I dont think Ill like them any less if they dont. So I guess Im trying to gauge both how many want low numbered blades and why.

I have 3 LEs and they're all #223. Once I would have gotten #9 but requested #223.

Not too sure - havent seen one before...
I think there are maybe a handful who really REALLY want specific low numbers, or a specific number in general.
