Basic 8. Bring it. Pics, conversation, or the real deal soon, it's all good.

BASICS FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In all seriousness, thats an awesome set. I was lusting after a NMSFNO [thanks m67] but now I have my eye on the B8!

... maybe a special ganza with blaze orange res-c????

You are welcome :D

Should have told me, I would have proxied you one

I agree too. Can't wait for the 8 especially. A lot easier and less cumbersome then a 11 or 10 on the pack and can too same thing imo. And I also love of the SAR's. The price point will be a lot easier to swallow on an 8- which seems to be a true working mans knife or camp knife/chopper.

jerry ,,please make the basic series a busse combat or company store release!!!!!!!!

I have had a seven in the past and quickly sold it. But I think this 8 will be a great one to have. I look at it this way. I have some 11's so I'm good with big knives and don't really need the 10. The 4 sounds amazing so I'll be getting a few of those. Then it's a decision between the 6 and the 8. In a 6" blade I like it a little thinner like the BJLE but an 8" is fine at .24". I can't say definitively since I haven't held any of them but the 8 seems like it would be perfect one knife, given that scenario.

Now I just have to wait patiently until the Ganza so I can secure myself some 8's and 4's.:D;)

.

The blade profile on the B4 looks stellar!

Reminds me of a BadgerIII with a res c handle!

I sure want one, but with the recent acquisition of Muck (not to mention CABS and KZII) I will probably have to pass for now. Bummer!

I was really regretting selling my Basic 7, but now I want the B8...and for some reason I want a black blade on that.

the 4 looks like a mix of gen 1 howling rat and a war dog, I like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I know it is a Gen 2 up there)

...
I have a feeling this (Basic 8) is going to be the only knife that will usurp the SAR 6 for me as the go to blade. I came to this realization after obtaining a Battle rat and found myself wishing for the same knife just a hair shorter and in INFI. I even debated shortening a B11 down to between 8 - 8.5 inches on my own but thought better of it.

... I suspect it is the new grail ... I'll take it!

Bumping this older thread to show how interest has grown in the Basic 8--many, many others have come to share this view, obviously.

Even though we had to wait from Blade 2011 to Cupidganzaaaa 2015 it was definitely worth the wait. With these specs, especially the convex grind with zero edge, full choil and .22 thick, the Basic 8 LE is effectively a wider bladed res-c handled SAR 8 sans thumb notches. The HOG B8 should be an awesome performer based on my SAR 8 use and abuse trials. If you missed out on a SAR 8, I would not miss out on the Basic 8 LE as it looks to be the best of both designs at a very fair price point! Picture the top knife in this pic with respirene-c and it should make more sense. Thanks for bringin it Boss and Crew! :D:thumbup::cool:

This one is a little "runty";) to be considered a HOG B8, but I agree, and as requested by many, should be a pretty good performer and really light in the hand.

I'm still hoping Jerry is going to surprise us with a non-LE CG run in thicker and thinner stock available directly from the shop.:very_drunk:

ETA: Great Pic Tim!!!
