Basic 8 CG

Thicker handle and thinner blade??

It feels good. I usually prefer blades 6" and less.... I have no experience with the previous version. Was the prior version a Scrap Yard? What is the history of this model?

I will get my calipers on it later, but when you insert the combat grade into the LE sheath, it spreads the sheath open wider than the LE by quite a bit. But still no drag on my sheaths. Blade looks thinner to the eye, but I may be wrong on that part.
It definitely will need adjustment if you buy a sheath for a LE.

I heard they did a pre-order on these at the show, does that mean it will be a regular release offering soon? :D

Are you saying the handle is spreding the kydex apart or the coating/blade thickness is spreading the kydex wider? Typically, the thicker the blade stock = the wider the Res-C, as it is stretched as it gets pressed onto the tangs. You can really feel the difference when you hold a B8LE and a Dogfather side by side.

Thanks for the info Al!

The pre order at the show was for the Ash 2 because they didn't get it ready in time. No Basic 8 order that I was aware of. But it could have happened today when I was flying back home.

Yes, you are right. Better to have a sheath made for the specific blade! :)
