This is a smooth-coat Basic 9, my personal user for over 10 years. I’ve owned several of these, but this is my favorite of all the Basic 9’s I’ve owned and the only one I’ve kept. It’s no longer getting used due to other combinations of knives I carry in my vehicle and in the field these days, as Busse keeps improving and expanding the line, so I’d like someone else to get some use out of it, because this is a remarkable knife.

Special Notes:

1) Basic 9’s varied quite a bit in length, from just over 9” out to a few that actually hit the 10” mark. As you can see in this next pic, this is one of those “Basic 10’s”.

2) The convex edge on this one has been meticulously maintained at the original angle, convex on one side and flat on the other, and is a hair-popping, screaming razor. The deep bites it takes on wood, for a relatively light knife, will surprise you. This knife IS the definition of an honest user.

As you can see, the smooth coat is scratched from use, but on the flat side of the edge (above) you will also note that there is very little coating wear at the edge, which means this knife has almost all of its service life still in front of it. Unlike so many safe-queen Basic 9’s you see on the market these days in the $400-$500 range, this is one you can use hard as a beater, to your heart’s content, without lowering its value one red cent.

$275 SOLD shipped in conus, postal money order only—not set up for Paypal.

Here is a full shot of the left side of the knife, and the knife in its original olive-green-and-black cordura sheath, which is in excellent condition and included in the sale:
