Basic Process for first blade (newbie perspective) - Please Critique

Thanks for all the hints guys.. I've never used the layout dye, but always wanted to try it for some home gunsmithing I do where marker comes off far to easy. So figured I'd give it a try and see how it works.

The tip on marking the steel multiple times and often is one I probably wouldn't have thought about..so thanks. I'll make it routine.

I'll be on here a lot more with A LOT of questions.. so be gentle. I'll make sure to search before asking.
