Basics prices?

dont get me wrong guys I am in for one of these! I dont think there grossly over priced at all!!!!!!!!! Infact I didnt even bring that point up. I couldnt be more happy with my CGBJ and it is very close in size and price and I happen to love this size knife. I do wish there was a combat grade since I dont believe in safe queens.

yeah but on the same token the boss jack LE is 397.00, 120.00 more for micarta handles so if you use that is a price guide I think the B6 LE is a descent price imho

I thought the BOSS Jack LE was overpriced as well :)

It's ok though, value is subjective, and unfixed, by nature and I understand that.

Hell, a few years ago before I got bit by the INFI bug, I thought people were utterly INSANE for spending more than $150 on a fixed blade...

Value is a funny concept.

On another note, I would have bet money that Busse would offer the new Basics together with special pricing if you buy the compete set... Guess I was wrong.

From a business standpoint the way its being done makes sense to offer them individually and with a limited release - I bet if they offered the 4 and 6 at the same time a lot of people would just choose one, whereas if they stagger the releases, people may buy each one - more collectible, and allows people to save up cash, that way which drives people to purchase...

I really wish they would do a CG of the B6, and hope they do CG of the other Basics. I can't afford the LE models, and I really had my hopes up that the Basic series would be... well... Basic!

If we took the price ratio of the Boss Jack vs Boss Jack LE :
$267 / $397 = 0.6725 or 67%

and applied that to the Basic 6 LE to get the CG :
0.67 x $277 = $185.59

$187 (since Busse likes to end in 7)

I would definitely drink to that!

I completely agree on all counts, I remember not that long ago when the most expensive knife I bought was 175.00, I never dreamed of spending as much money on a knife that I could on a gun. Also the combined release, bingo, if the 4 and 6 were released together I would pass on the 6, one at a time and more folks are going to be inclined to buy them all, that said I wonder if Jerry will then wait for the 2 most desired (imho) the 4 and 10 til last?

One would have thought that the whole point of the Basic line was economy in this recession.....I agree, the prices seem not too "basic"....Guess that means one instead of 2 or more....

I have to agree with TrailWolf, 89.95 or 277.00 My brain wants Busse B6:D,, my wallet is saying SYKCO:). Got till Thursday:eek:, only time will tell ?????

It's a nice blade but too expensive for me...
I think I won't be able to afford the basic 10 either.

I would much prefer a some cheaper + coated basics !!!!

Fortunately I can still get the SY or SR 911.

On the bright side, the higher price will make it harder for flippers to raise it 40-120% shortly after its release and actually get a sale. :foot:
