It's winter here but it was just summer, so my tastes in clothes haven't changed much, it's still pretty warm at about 5 degrees C.

Anyways I like to wear basketball shorts everywhere, especially when biking, much better than jeans which get mashed in the gears.

The problem is that these things are so... silky and loose that I can't clip a knife to my pocket, even a tiny one. The knife moves around and is really annoying.

If I try to pull it out of my pocket it pulls up my shorts all the way up my thigh with the clip. The shorts offer no resistance to the movement of the knife and clip.

I usually carry IWB and this works for knives of most any size, but deployment is a problem with a jacket over top.

Also, it looks a bit like I'm itching my crotch to others. :thumbdn:

Do you guys have any solutions? Experienced this problem?

Huh that's interesting... never thought of that. I have actually NEVER seen a neck knife being worn... anywhere! :P

How does it work? How do you wear it? Details please. :D

Haha in all seriousness, I have the same problem. I've never been able to find a comfortable solution while biking in shorts, but if I'm out for a longer ride, I usually have a pack I can clip it to anyway.

Esee Izula with paracord through the bottom of the sheath, wear it under or over the shirt whatever you like.

No, I can't say that I have. Then again I'm not to keen on silky shorts:p

Are you serious?

In or out of shirt. Legal here to wear either way, but I would check your laws.

Don't clip it to your pocket. Just put the knife in your pocket. That's what I do, and I don't seem to ever have a problem.

I'm serious, people here don't carry knives unless they are rural or unless it is on a keychain. :P

I've actually never considered a necker. Maybe it's time to get an Izula. :P

This won't work. These shorts are so loose and free anything would fall out, I don't put ANYTHING in the pockets. Not even sure why Basketball shorts have pockets. They are so light and breezy.

i clip my folder to my waistband if i dont have pockets.

i used to have a spyderco G-10 dragonfly, and many times would forget its there cause its so lightweight.

now i carry a Emerson mini A-100, i notice its on the waistband, but its still small enough to not be discomforting.
i actually have it clipped inside my waistband as i type.

They're nice since they're of legal length just about everywhere, plus they're pretty useful for the size. I have one as an EDC and just clip it to my belt. The belt clip actually attaches decently well to shorts, too.

1. What do you do with your wallet, phone, keys etc?
2. You can always rock a fanny pack to store all your stuff.
3. If carrying a fixed blade is illegal, you could try to get a lightweight knife, a lightweight nylon type sheath, and hang it around your neck with paracord or some type of chain. It may not be classy but it would be functional. Again, if its tucked inside the shirt, make sure it isnt considered a concealed weapon.
4. Get those things that hold up old mens socks and clip your pocket knife to that.

Esee Izula on a ball chain around your neck, under your t-shirt.

I used to carry mine on a piece of paracord until someone pointed out to me that if the cord should happen to get hung up on something (say a tree branch while running or biking or whatever kind of obstacle one might get hung up on), you could very well strangle yourself. Ball chain is cheap like borscht at your local hardware store.

I do not recommend this option, because then you'd have to hand in your man card and take Pilates classes.

I hear ya Boob, I have the same thing when I wear my Banana hammock speedos...pics to follow.

I don't know. Silky shorts vs Fanny pack ??? Toss up.

I don't really think Boob worries to much about having his man card on him at all times anyway:p

C'mon Boob, just get some warm up pants. Its gotta be getting cold, and surely your not wanting to show off your legs that much.
