The Bastinelli BBR1 was a collaboration between Bastien Coves (Bastinelli Creations) and the knife collector/designer known as MonsieurFromLondon. It was produced in a limited run of 75 knives by LionSteel and sold out at the 2011 USN Vegas show. It will never be made again. The design is the first Bastinelli folder ever produced and was the baseline for the popular BBR2 folder, also made by LionSteel.

Design-wise, this is an incredibly versatile knife with the size and cutting power of much bulkier and heavier framelock folders, but in a lighter and slimmer package. It is comfortable in nearly any handling position and can be used as an emergency tool, self-defense implement, or EDC knife. The handle ergonomics, blade design, framelock bar and rotoblock create an incredibly secure knife with no risk of slipping or accidental closures.

The BBR1 features titanium lockbar and skeletonized liner, D2 steel blade with a full flat ground profile and a 3.5" cutting edge, dual thumb stud, tip-down right-side carry pocket clip, screw-on conical glass-breaker, and G10 scale.

This particular piece has a brown G10 scale modified by Bastien himself, plus an unmodified green G10 scale. The hardware was cerakoted by the previous owner, who also sanded the blade finish in preparation for coating but left the work unfinished. I sent it back to LionSteel where the lock face was resurfaced to ensure zero slippage or play, and they also returned the edge to shaving sharpness.

Comes with a padded, zippered case and a DPx HEST tool for adjusting the pivot. Everything is solid on this knife with no issues at all. Good detent, centering, and smooth without being too loose. Lockup is over 50%.

The price is SOLD which recovers most of the money I put into this. This includes US shipping and Paypal. Price on these new was $425-465 depending on options, and you will likely never see another one again.
