BAT or Tank Buster?

Okay, I'm trying to decide whether or not to order the new Badger attack tac or wait for the Tank Buster (TB) to become available. I'm not interested in ordering both as many of you Hogs will undoubtedly do, so I'm hoping for a little help. Does anyone know what the differences are between these two knives? I prefer the looks of the TB to the BATAC and (on the Busse museum website) they appear to be of similar dimensions, so I'm leaning toward the TB. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's a hard call and you are right...I would advocate both LOL.

Here is a pick for comparison. SJTAC in the middle

Probably going to be longer then "two weeks " for a TB
I would purchase A BAT now ,you can always sell/trade it later ;) ;)

If you're going to use it for skinning, I'd go with the TB as it appears to have more belly. That said, unless you want to wait awhile, do what Deusker advised; buy the BAT now, then sell or trade it for a TB later.

It will be a 5 month wait before the next knife is even for sale... ALWAYS buy one LE of whats for sale... ITS TEH LAW!!

I'm with you fellers!

Buy the BAT now and get the TB when it comes out if you aren't in LOVE with your Badger.

I foolishly passed on the FBM, and will never pass up a Busse offering again. Now I'm chomping at the bit waiting for them to hit the Company Store....

Buy now, or forever regret later!

I've handled them and from what I remember they're fairly similar so I think you can't go wrong with either one.

I can safely say I agree with pretty much everything these guys are saying. Get one, it will be a while for the TB probably and you can always sell it later if you decide you don't "need" both.

Man must have Busse. What will you use in the mean time while waiting on a new offering? What if they don't offer your choice in the near future, or ever?
Buy one, buy one, buy one buy one, buy one,
Don't you hear em?

You can own them both.

Buy the BAT now.

Use it and enjoy it.

Buy the TB in 2 weeks or 6 months when it is available.

Use it and enjoy it too.

Sell your least favorite used knife for its purchase price on the exchange.

I know that voice, sounds like good advice and probably some from the "been there done that section"

Okay, okay, I cede to the Hogs. You lot have brow beaten me into submission. It looks like I'll be ordering a BAT now while I wait to order a TB. I still prefer the beefier TB blade but the thought of not having a 5" bladed Busse for the next 4 to 6 months is too much for me to bear. ;)

Is it just me, or is the choil on the the 2003 Blade show BA TAC picture above smaller than the one up on the Busse site now, or is it just the angle?

I actually would prefer the smaller choil, like the Swamp did with the new Howler below. Just my two cents.

I'd really like to see a smaller choil on the TB - more usable blade, and less to hang up on when cutting. Had that problem this weekend with my scrapper 6.

I like a full size choil to allow for choking up for precision work.

If you're not going to have a choil big enough for a finger, then make it as small as you can. Making one the size on the HRLM makes no sense to me at all. Not big enough to accommodate a finger, still big enough to catch on stuff you're cutting.

Has Amy-0 shipped your FBM yet?

I got that thing in about 2 weeks. Great turnaround. I was not expecting that. It is very sweet (if something that big can be considered sweet). Several others of the INFI wonders have made their way to my house lately as well.

THIS is a good point. I want a TB....really want a TB. But I am going to order a badger anyway with mag scales. I'll either love it or use it as trade bait on another, either way I'll end up with a busse I like:thumbup:
