Guyon: stop it with the great pics. One SE is good enough for me. Don't make me have to go buy an LE as well. ;)

Tyrkon, I actually threw back a BATAC SE in the Ganzaaaaa because I knew the LE wasn't far out. :(

Your pics are making me wish I'd gotten the SE too. :p

Guyon,

Are we celebrating with a Martini or two?:D

I am....

Wow. I just sat down at the keyboard with a "Three Olive" Special.

The man is psychic.

great pics! is that the small size sheath?

Spec Ops Combat Master small.

I am now prepared to receive hate mail from leatherman.

He should, however, remember how many sheaths I currently have on order. :D

GUYON:

Is that Spec-Ops sheath color Coyote Brown or Tan? Looks really good. I'm getting one for my BATACLE. Also, how did you heat up the Kydex to mold it? I don't want to F it up:eek:. And what did you cut the notch with? Something made of INFI I hope:D

It is the Coyote Brown. As you can see, the Tan is considerably lighter.

I've heated up and shaped three of these now, and I've done it every time with a hair dryer. However, as I'm heating, I test the flexibility of the plastic, pushing it in the direction I want. I noticed that it gets a little glossier looking at the point it bends and takes a set. Still, I wouldn't rely solely on the visual. I'd advise testing by hand as you go.

I don't think you really want to flatten the edge side. On mine, I just squeezed the slip together a little bit near the edge side. If you get it too tight, you can fold some paper towel over the tip of the blade (be sure to cover the entire blade on both sides), heat the slip back up, and shove the towel-covered blade down into the slip. The paper towel should leave some extra space for the blade. The thicker the folded paper towel, the more space you leave, of course.

I cut a rough notch with an SAK, shaped it with a nail file and an emory board, and then made it nice and smooth with some 180 grit sandpaper. I also rounded the edge of the lip with the sandpaper.

I think I put my order in the last day the LE's were available...just saw a hit to the CC yesterday...

From all the pic's floating around...I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

I also have a Coyote Brown Spec-Ops sheath I plan to use...that has been waiting around for it's blade for quite some time. Very good to hear it fits...I was worried by the blade thickness for a bit there!

Badger Badger Badger ATTACK!!!!

MORIMOTOM, here's that spine pic I promised.

LE: .267"

Great info on the Spec-Ops sheath. I think I'm going for a small OD one tonight for the BATAC SE! How long do they take to ship usually?

Depends on where you get it.

Seems like I bought the OD one from Brigade Quartermasters. http://www.actiongear.com

The Coyote Brown, I think I bought from eBay. There's an eBay store that stocks them regularly. Tactical Advantage is the name, I believe.
