Bathroom fixtures and showerheads

On the toilet issue, Lowe's carries a pressurized tank toilet that works great and I think is still around $250. They are louder than standard toilets but would suck a grapefruit down the drain! We put one in our last home and it worked great but was a little loud. There is also a new (non-pressurized) design that has a larger drain and is advertised as being able to flush 16 golf balls at once!
As for shower heads, I agree with the Speakman recommendation. If you are in an area that has "hard water" you may want to look at models with the rubberized nozzles so that you can easily brush away mineral build up on the nozzles.

3) You can do what all the builders do: get a toilet that's just like the 2.5 gallon toilets except it only uses 1.6 gallons. It's fashionable, it's cheap -- it doesn't work, but the buyers won't find out until it's too late, so why should the builders care about that?

So true. I love my 3 flush and plunge model :barf:

Some of those pressure assisted models will test your ear drums. If you don't like your neighbors next door, that will encourage them to move away from you. Seriously, test drive the pressure assisted models before you buy one. Many are way too loud for household use.

I think I have used those Speakman shower heads in a motel or two. Franky, I was not impressed. Was I just experiencing a low end model and not one of the recommended ones? Was it a knockoff of some sort that made me think it was a Speakman?

Where would you recommend I find one on-line? I could always drive around town looking for one but, in holiday traffic that is not fun.

Which specific models are recommended? Do I need to worry about water pressure (mine is ~average)? And yes, my water is very hard.
