Nitecore's released its newest SRT model, the compact SRT3. It's got the same Smart Ring Control for choosing modes and includes Red and Blue modes for a variety of applications.

We've really liked the variable output feature of the SRT series. Click the ring into the variable mode and then twist further for a smooth transition from 0 to a maximum of 550 lumens.

At 100mm long, this is the shortest SRT yet.

The light runs on a single CR123A battery or RCR123A. An included AA extender tube allows the light to run on a single AA battery!

The SRT3 WILL work with rechargeable cells. Without the extender, Li-Ion RCR123/16340 cells will get the highest outputs. Rechargeable AA's will also work with the extender, and should achieve similar outputs to Alkaline!
