Hey guys, New member here.

I stumbled onto Busse blades while I was online looking for a good survival knife. I happened to see the FFBM put through its paces on knifetests.com and instantly fell in love. I cant believe how durable that damn knife is. I wonder if I should save up and try to get one from someone on the site here or just save my money and get one of the new ones mentioned in this thread. I would love to see this new blade and I hope this new blade is as durable.

Resinguy- what are the two models all the way to the right? Those are the ones I like the best out of the bunch.

Welcome to BladeForums!

Any new blade will certainly be as durable, as that is what INFI provides the user, extreme toughness. We don't know when the new Battle Mistress will debut, but my guess would be at the Blade Show in June. And even then it might only be to take orders, delivery could be months after that.

You know that you can't wait that long for your Busse fix. ;) Plenty of good stuff on the Exchange to choose from right now.

Far right is the Combat Grade FBM, the one with the corrugations in the blade. IMHO, perhaps the best all-rounder of the Mistress family.

Second from right is the FBM LE. Thicker blade with a full height flat grind. Thicker, heavier than the CGFBM, but not as beefy as the FFFBM seen on knifetests.com

Thanks. I like the blade profile of those two, and especially like the corrugations. There are so many Battle Mistress models that I don't want to risk picking up the wrong one in the exchange by mistake!

So what does the Light Brigade mean? Is that the knuckles?

No knuckle guards on this; not sure what Light Brigade means but it is going to be an 11" blade Straight Handle Battle Mistress with nucular meltdown treatment (radiused edges).

Blasphemy......There is no Wrong Battle Mistress!:D

Light Brigate is a new handle type with anti-vibration web that spans the entire inside profile of the handle while producing an I-Beam effect. This greatly reduces the weight of the handle without turning it into a hollowed out tuning fork. --- This is from Jerry's post few months back.

You can read all about it here

+1. From the old Straight handle, the ergo, to the newer Fusion handle, you cant go wrong with a battle Mistress. I think the trend will continue with the upcoming Light Brigade series as well.

Of all the Busse models out there, if there was only 1 Busse you absolutely had to have, it IS the Battle Mistress! Can't go wrong with it.

Thanks for the clarifications on the handles. I will have to wait and see what it looks like, but in the mean time I will be on the lookout for any variety of a FBM!
