Battle Mistress, SR-101 or INFI

Infi is way more corrosion resistant. But this is using the mentality that you don't take care of your blades, like pull them out every now and then oil or polish the blades do the surface of the metal has protection.
I stripped a swamp rat almost 7 months ago. It has been in the safe, only rubbed down with oil when I stripped it and it hasn't developed any patina or surface rust. I do check it every week or two.

The rising that either blade will do won't be eating into the steel just surface rust if anything. Both steels are the best around, if you check or care less for your knives then INFI is the way I'd go.

Beavis is right. ANY steel will rust if left in the right conditions. I live in SoCal, have a few satin SR-101 blades, and have had zero issues with them. I check all my blades to make sure they're okay from time to time and clean/oil them as needed. I also clean/dry/oil each of my blades before I put them back after use. Just a little care is all they need, and they will make it into your great-great-great grandchild's hands.

I'm a Busse addict and I just couldn't pass her up.
Good luck on your Mistress quest!!!

True, only steels specifically designed against rust will not rust. I remember diving in Hawaii with an ATS34 stainless blade. I forgot to rinse it when I got back and the next day it had a full coat of rust on it.

Wait so the INFI is only a little more corrosion resistant than SR101? Isnt INfI's corrosion resistance one of the bigger selling points?

Info is a ton note corrosion resistsnt. I'd call it stainles, thought it is not supposed to be. I've fished, canoed for days, swam, and soaked it. I've left it wet in the sheath with. No I'll effects.

Yeah guys, SR101 is great, no doubt in my mind. And even though I strip my blades, I know how to care for carbon steel. I typically wipe them off with a rag that has applied so much Ballistol to blades, I hardly have to add any to coat steel. I just stripped my CG SOB; turned out pretty well, though I'll probably sand it again in a few months after some use.

With Jerry hinting that Bacon will be in the trough, I've decided to wait... but that has not stopped me from anxiously contemplating the BG talon mistress. Thanks for your replies...
