Battle Rat

If you have $$$ and a quick trigger finger, not hard ;)

Seems like there is at least one a week on the exchange. Post a "want to buy" thread :)

Id Just buy a Basic 10 while they're available. They're almost the same knife except infi will hold an edge longer and it has a nice satin finish.

I love mine...all the chopper I need...

Just posted in the wanted area. Should I post something in the Busse forum as well?

I would call the BR 'scarce' although with some dough you can snag one if you are willing to part with the cash. The smaller CT (Camp Tramp) was always a fav of mine...just built like a tank.

I humbly beg to differ on the edge holding, Busse himself said that SR101 holds a slightly better edge than INFI.

You know what else is bad a$$? A Battle guard. Current rate at the exchange is a little too rich for my taste, but I'll be damned if it isn't something I want ;)

+1. SR-101 isn't quite as tough as INFI though.

Sexy, just sexy. I have my fingers crossed that someone will let it go for $200 :P Or at least trade it for one of my blades. What's the going price in the exchange these days?

SR101 is as tough as I have ever needed it to be. In order to decipher any difference between the two in the "tough" department some abuse will be in order. Under normal even rough use I have never noticed a difference. If SR101 was more stainless and easier to sharpen (stuff is really wear resistant) it would really give INFI a run for it's money.

Agreed 100%. Especially on the diferentially treated models, SR-101 is as tough as I've ever needed too. It takes quite the abuse and just begs for more!!! It was a bit of a PITA for me to sharpen until I recently learned how to convex on a belt sander. Now it's just as easy as anything else, but just takes a little bit longer. SR-101 sure takes one heck of an edge!!!

Added: And SR-101 is a lot cheaper than INFI. 95% of the benefit for ~60% or less of the cost. I have a number of SRKW blades (and several more on order right now), but I just can't afford the extra $$$ for Busse's INFI. For example, you could get a Waki and two Rucki's for the same price as an AK47. Which would you feel better using? For ME, SRKW is a great compromise, especially for users!

I picked up a user satin battle rat not too long ago for $200... deals are out there to be had.

It is extremely light for a larger blade, I like it alot!

200 for a true Satin Battle Rat is a flipping steal!!!!

The Battle Rat was my first "Busse" kin knife. It was my gateway drug, my first and still one one of the best blades ever made. Now if only I could talk a certain person into parting ways with a black handle Satin Battle Rat!!!!!!

It would take a very large wad of cash to get me to part with mine...........my favorite knife I own hands down. You will not be dissapointed if you get one.
