Sent this Battle Saw in to Josh at R.E.K. Knives recently to have it Stripped, Bead Blasted, and Sharpened and Convexed to Zero terminating at 15 DPS with a 20 DPS Micro bevel on the Wicked edge. To say I am Impressed would be an understatement! Josh does incredible Work at VERY REASONABLE Prices!
As soon as I receive the 2 Huck Fin's I have ordered, one will be out the Door to Josh@Razors' Edge! Enjoy, and thanks again Josh!!

Here is the next one to receive a Make Over-It has an appointment on April 15th

Very nice! I'm looking forward to how it works for you, especially compared to a stock Battle Saw.

Nice!!! I'll bet she bites crazy deep now.
How thick is it behind the edge now?

Looks awsome, as soon as I find a Black Canvas Battle saw, I think im gona do the same

Wow, I actually agree with Barbie! ^^^

Nice man, real nice!!!

That's a nice looking edge. I got a feeling took a while to get it there but I'm sure its sharper than all HE double hockey sticks.

WOW

The wife will hate to hear this but I need a BS now :D

Is it safe to assume that Josh etched the Busse logo or did you do that prior to sending it to him ?

No Sir, Josh etched it-I purchased the Red, Black, and Gray G10 from Busse a couple of months after they were offered during O2W-If I remember correctly somebody received one in their Grab Bag! I saw it and contacted Garth to see if anymore were available! Sometimes a simple call or e-mail can yield great results! Also all the work Josh did-Stripping, Bead Blasting, and Wicked edge sharpening totaled an astounding $125 and change, to include Shipping it Back to me! UNBELIEVEABLE!!!

Got a question from another Forum Member regarding the Convex to Zero grind, so here is the whole story-Thanks

it is not a full convex zero grind as that would have been done by regrinding the entire grind. But in another sense it is because it is flat ground blended into a convex without a secondary bevel until you get to the small secondary bevel I applied w/ the wicked edge. It can't be truly zero ground with anything but a satin finish (because it must be buffed to remove the burr). Basically yours is a 'flat-vex' (flat ground convex - I made this word up off the hip lol) zero grind w/ a microbevel if that makes any sense lol =)

A full/complete regrind is also much more expensive than what I charged to reprofile, convex, and blend that edge. It is just a sticky gray area to say exactly what it is because the convexity blends everything. .. I did a flat regrind on it and convexed it to zero, then added a microbevel (the latter part is just what I did to yours). You would not be able to tell in a pic if I did a full convex zero or a flat-vex zero - not until you got it in person. The reason for this flat-vex grind on yours is because a full convex would likely mean an even lower angle behind the edge which could lead to fragility issues (although you CAN set it up how you want, it would be more of a secondary/primary bevel sort of thing). That's why I say this discussion is a gray area =) Hope I made what I said somewhat understandable.

In other words it is exactly what I requested-Sharpest damn knife I believe I have ever had-Thanks again to Josh at Razors edge!!!

Tom, she's BEAUTIFUL! :D

The Battle Saw is a 100% pure BUSSE USA GENUINE DESIGN PURE AMERICANA ICON-- I rank it right up there with Col. Jim Bowie's very own creation !!!

There are models that may hold a more hallowed place in the Busse pantheon-- but that's just because they got made FIRST!!! ;)

In a decade or two the Battle Saw will RULE WITH THEM ALL!

And Tom, you sir hold the ribbon for "Best of the Breed" ... Lastly.... Josh, you've outdid yourself...AGAIN!

P.S. Tom check your inbox I have forwarded you the bill for a new keyboard since mine is short-circuiting from drool because of your blade :p ...
