Battle Saw Sawing :) Now with Video and more pics

+1 on stripping, I'll be doing that as soon as mine returns with its pants
I'll be eager to see the results. I can't wait to get my patriot pants for mine as well. Though for those who don't have a sheath ordered yet, David's kydex looks outstanding. I have a few of his other sheaths and they are all excellent

Dave,

One of the best techniques for using the Battle Saw is to saw from the bottom of the board up. That way, you can apply a small amount of upward pressure while pushing the knife away from you. It works great!

Your Battle Saw sheathes are AWESOME!!!

Thank you Brother.
I will have to try that technique :)
Thank you for making this wonderful knife.

David

Was hoping you'd go all the way through the board to see if any binding, etc. occurs, either way-- nice video.

Great work, David. This knife is just begging to be stripped

Thank you.

Working on Stripping it the Hard Way..............By Using it :)

Great looking sheath David. I'll have to pick one up. I'm psyched to get my Battle Saw soon!

Dave, thanks for the pics and video. That is a very safe design you have come up with for a very useful blade design. I think this blade will be appreciated very much by those who use them. I am looking forward to receiving mine.

Jerry,
That technique would be very useful out in the field on a 'Widowmaker' log that is hung up in the air on another tree or cluster of deadfalls. It would be very good to notch the bottom before chopping the top so as to get a cleaner break and prevent the twisting/rolling that makes them so dangerous to harvest. Sometimes in a wetter forest environment of rain/snow the 'Widowmaker' that is suspended is the driest piece of seasoned wood you will find with no rot for the best chance at a good fire when you need it most in the cold & wet. Thanks for making such a practical woods design!
