The beauty is ruined. It's the only thing I care about with knives. I live a very physically easy life. I never need a knife. I collect knives as pocket jewelry, not tools.

This Combat Troodon was pristine. Not a mark on it. Had to carry it while my other one was at the mothership.

My family was on a trip, son riding shotgun. He wanted to look at it so I had it sitting on my leg after he gave it back to me. We had a tire partially alligator skin, so we got out to see which one…. Of course I hear a thump of something bouncing off the door, and a clatter of something hitting and skidding on asphalt.😩🤬

Picked the damn thing up off the road full of “goober marks”. Oh well, nicest beater I’ll ever own at this point.

Battle wounds is why I passed on the fluted titanium Native and Military from Spyderco. I could envision myself dropping it on concrete and being endlessly disappointed with myself. What’s weird is that I would not have the same concern with aftermarket fluted titanium scales.

Personally I love when my knives get banged up a bit. It adds character. I'm going to start carrying my new Spyderco Police CE with stainless handle scales this week, those slabs will get scratched and scuffed just by looking at them!

Seems the more worn knives are admirable while the beauties with a single gruesome gouge make me shiver. But these are all really nice knives, comrades!

Use a knife long enough
No matter how careful
It'll get dinged up propper.
The only way to take the absolutely best care of a knife---
Is to not even own it, that way;
You can't possibly do anything risqué with it

i like things perfect, but there is nothing perfect.so i let it go to make myself easy.
i appreciate wounds on blade, that’s the mark of royalty, acompany, and service.

I really enjoy buying a new knife.......
Then I use the heck out of it and it becomes an old trustworthy tool.
When it is worn out.......
I GET TO BUY A NEW KNIFE !!!!!

I used this Spyderco Salt a lot around the Submarine and it never showed a bit of rust or corrosion. I maintained it well and kept it very sharp. It was my most used knife on that job; I gave it to one of my crew mates when I retired.

These were my most used folders on diving jobs and around the Submarine.
