So - who here is a fan and anxiously waiting the opening this Friday? I can't wait... :D

What are your bets as to who #1 (or #5 depending how you count) might be?

I was told if I didn't stop watching Battlestar Galactica then I would be denied sex. I am going to miss the sex.....

That surprises me, because it's a totally chick show. Chick primary heroes, chicks engaging in physical combat with men, and triumphing, etc.

...But yeah, I still watch it. :o

Big favorite of mine, and one of the best shows on TV to my mind. (not just sci-fi; best period)
The writing has always been excellent, and someone on the staff understands how the military thinks and reacts. Not the case with a lot of so-called "military" science fiction that has been produced in the past.
The idea of giving the Cylons a religion of sorts was genius as well; no simple robotic killing machines; these Cylons have feelings and emotions and even dreams.

But they are usually sweaty and wearing tight tank tops.....

I'm sad it's the last season but it sounds like they're going to go out with a bang. I have no idea who number 5 is. Dee? Felix?

Frank

I'd guess Roslin. That would nicely put in perspective her (almost certain) death...

I was ( keyword was ) intensly hooked on BG from the start , I missed nights with my old crew to stay home and watch it when it was on Fridays, as was my old co-worker Matt , we would have long discussions about where we though the show was going.

To be honest , to thse who have never watched the show , you are truly missing out on one of the greatest shows ever produced on TV , IMO.

But.... They lost me for good for a few reasons , first they moved the night to what was it ? sunday night at 10 ?? I'm in bed getting ready for the work-week , plus a show of that caliber should have been on prime time instead of stuck back in the dregs of programming time.
Second , I absolutly hated waiting 6 months in between seasons , that was bollocks , a few seasons of that and when it did come back on I had lost the bug that bit me when it first aired.

So , no I wont be watching it anymore , mostly for the second reason - it was like 'ok i waited six months' , it's back on , a new night.... commercials every 5 minutes..... you got a half hour of actual show for every hour , what 7-8 episodes and then "next seasons previews' and that was that.

I hear you brother. But...

That's freakin' cable TV.

Look at The Sopranos, for instance.

Cable is just a different animal. They do things differently. They apparently work differently. What clearly they don't do is understand that we, raised on broadcast networks, don't always understand WTF?!?!

Still, I have tried to understand that there simply are differences.

Try it, you may be pleased with the result.

I was fed up with the man-hating of BSG, but I know that on Friday night, I'll be watching. ;)

Hmm... Not sure how they would have managed that given the fact that his dad was and is around.

Good show. I personally think last season was a let down, and the return of Starbuck was a big disapointment. I'll still watch this year though.

I download the episodes from Itunes the next day. No commericals

I suspect that the 5th cylon is either Apollo or Adama.

Wait 'til the dvd's come out. . . watch a marathon of them without having to wait through the commercials, the week, the months. . .

That's my plan. I have season's 1, 2, 2.5, and 3 on dvd.
When the last season comes out, I plan to take a week's holiday,
start at the beginning and watch and watch and watch......:)
