On monday afternoon I ordered a Columbia River "Urban Shark" from Bayou Lafourche. I received it today. I couldn't be happier with Bayou Laforce for their service or their prices. Most importantly, at least to me, was the communication. I used the UPS tracking number that the owner had provided me and it indicated that an attempt was made to deliver my knife yesterday. That was not true. My door was open all day long because I was home, just waiting for my new knife to be delivered. (You know how it is.

) When UPS didn't deliver my knife, I sent Roger an e-mail. I received four e-mails (!) from him asking if I had received the knife yet. Now THIS is service! This man truly takes customer satisfaction seriously.
I can't recommend Bayou Lafourche highly enough for price, service, and perhaps most importantly COMMUNICATION.

I second that, too! Roger is all class and you can bet he will take care of his customers.

Roger is one of, if not the best for service. I sent him an email to ask about a knife that was not listed on the website. He replied quickly and I recieved the item in three days. You can't beat service like that and his price was better than all the other sites on this item.

I had a chance to visit Bayou Lafourche last night, I live about 5 minutes from Roger's shop. I went to look at a Spyderco Toad, he just happened to have the serrated model I was looking for in stock- so of course I picked one up. Roger was great! We talked for around 20 minutes, he has a great selection of knives on hand and his prices can't be beat. I highly recommend him. If you are ever in the area I would suggest stopping by, there is also a great Wings place a few doors down- they even keep ice cold Guinness on hand. A great knife shop and wings place 5 minutes from the house- boy am I in trouble!

JBSF3,
I was happy to put in a good word for Roger at Bayou Lafourche. As I said, his customer service and prices are the best!
I have the "plain" edge Toad. I carry the Toad in addition to the Urban Shark that I got from Bayou Lafourche. I use the "Shark" for cutting, however I find myself using the Toad as a "worry stone". I rub my thumb along it's smooth scales or turn it over and over in the plam of my hand. It's a great little piece.
I NEED a "worry stone". When Algore FINALLY goes away maybe I won't need to rub the scales of the little toad as much.
