Ha! Thank you 315 315 for the kind words & for the proxy :) And also thanks to JM2 JM2 for the cool GAW and of course to btb01 btb01 for bringing us all together. I must admit that I lost track of Merle's adventures, my online time falls off precipitously in the summer months and I just haven't gotten back to many threads here. But I will make a large pot of coffee and set aside some hours soon for a very enjoyable catch-up. I've actually had Merle on my mind recently because here in Fairbanks we are once again in the middle of the annual ice carving competition, and I've been thinking of all the adventures I shared with Merle this time last year. Also, if anyone recalls his stint in the arctic, I've been working to improve my aurora photography, the lack of which was my one great regret from his visit with me. If I did happen to win the GAW I'll be up front and say that ornament would end up on my Christmas tree, not around a moose's neck! Moose are actually quite ornery cusses 😂

Carl did a great job showing us around his family’s farm, and I think that jelly spoon would be put to great use with some of his homemade apple butter! 😋
 
John's package showed up in the mail today and it did not disappoint. The spoon is perfect jelly scooping size and the ornament will look great on the tree. Thanks again John!!!

Glad it made it no issues. Sometimes I worry about the post not being so kind to items entrusted in its care. It was a fun project. I wish now, I'd had the foresight to do a couple of each for a better GAW. Maybe with the next knife that gets passed around.
