Hi good people...I've got this one here...it's my VERY first folder(well, not sure if them Balis count as folders?) anyway, definitely my very first lockback (as some of you might know,I usually do fixed blades)...kinda wanted to keep it,but I like my wifey talking to me more LOL...anyway,here it is... SPECS:open length 214mm (8 1/2") ,closed 120mm (4 3/4") ,200 layers tool steel Damascus blade (19314 & Bohler K605) @ around 61-62 HRC,pretty sharp and pointy ;)... bronze/brass liners and bolsters, damascus insides, hand carved weaved basket bone slabs (hidden pins) ,inlays: sterling silver,Paua abalone, rose gold...also features hand engraved sterling silver toothpick ....walks and talks sweet, will come in a case with a COA...and of course,as with all my knives,it is 100% handmade and one of a kind...I absolutely HATE pricing my work, especially something like this as it is very first of its kind for me (there might or might not be others at some stage, but there's only one "the first" ;).. anyway...I'm thinking something like $1500 OBO should keep the missus happy and me not crying too much about letting it go lol...any questions, suggestions or anything at all, don't hesitate to shoot me a line on bccustomknives@hotmail.com ...Cheers ;) Brian

That is stunning!

I can't wait to see how you top this one, because it's going to be TOUGH to do.

I'm surprised that it hasn't sold yet.

After seeing what I saw at the Miami Show, using priced items as a reference, your knife should be easily in the 5K range wholesale. The only thing missing is the "name" which counts big time so only time for that but the workmanship is there now it appears to me. Good Luck and thanks for showing. What K is the rose gold in the inlays please?

Gary

Thank you all for the kind words ;) And Gary, the rose gold inlay is that circle for my maker's mark on the blade, and I'm reasonably sure it's 14K,but not 100% because it's from a bag of mixed old stock I've got,had it for years,so I can't remember lol

Ok guys, can't believe it's still here,so last call 😉...don't be shy to make me an offer,if you don't try you won't know lol...i'm a pretty reasonable guy ...if this isn't gone soon i'm taking it out of the box and putting on my belt as an EDC ,which might be a waste on me lol, especially since it's nothing to be ashamed of as an addition to any collection...once again, this is a one of a kind,100% handmade (no milling machines, etc, handheld tools only, files, chisells ,stones and sandpaper) and it is my very first folder,so from a collector's point of view it could count for some as well...it's sharp and pointy enough to castrate a fly, solid build with sweet action...anyway,like i said,if it isn't gone soon it will be off the market ,so speak up now or forever hold your peace lol...Cheers,Brian

Brian, you have made what looks to be an amazing knife with great attention to detail everywhere. Your price does not seem out of line to me. Many makers sell their folders for higher prices. However i think it is beyond the price range of most of us BF'ers. I would love to own it, but i will not insult you with an offer of what i can afford to spend. I think this is true for others here too. It's not your knife, it's us, that makes a sale difficult.

Thanks KJ, you're probably right (I hope so anyway, lol) ,I've sold a number of my previous pieces for much more than that and priced this one for a quick sale, thinking it won't last long, but oh well...this is the only place I've offered it so far,so might ask around yet first before I wreck it by carrying it around with my shopdirty hands lol...once again, thank youse all for all the kind words, much appreciated, stay sharp ,Cheers ;) Brian
