I don't know how many of you guys love the 500 but this club knife I just got today is the nicest 500 and maybe the nicest Buck folder I've ever owned.
Oh, and its blade is 154cm. I'll let the pictures do all the talkin!!
The blade stamp is very weak and hard to see.

Oh man! I'm beatin' a trail up to the mail box (excuse my dust), mine might be here too!

:thumbdn::grumpy:Later: Dang it, mine didn't show today. It wasn't a total loss though, I did score a new Victoria's Secret catalog!;)

I am very tempted to order another one but I got to wait till the web specials pop up on Tues first. Heck they may be sold out for all I know.

Barebottom Duke? O, call it what you want.DM

Quote from AAPK website, Knife terms and definitions.

"Barehead: This term refers to a knife that does not have a rear bolster." I always found it funny that the butt end of the knife was called the "head" in this instance.

I've thought the same thing and I still don't think I'd use that term.Somebody was on Miller time.DM

In Buck's writing they do not use this term.(bare headed) They use rear bolster. Both Joe and Larry.Which to me is very correct allowing a person to know what is being discussed.DM

That may be, but the BCCI newsletter ad for the knife refers to it as "barehead construction (no rear bolster)". That seems to be a fairly well accepted term from what I've seen.

Plumber,Ok, I'll let it go.But I'll not use that term to describe that area either. As its a misnomer. Why beat around the bush? If, its butt naked!--- Its butt naked!! DM

Plumber,

I just learned yesterday, that the shipment of 500's we received from Buck was not enough to cover everyone who ordered one. 71 were shipped on Wednesday, sadly, you didn't make the first cut. Your knife will be delayed until we receive the next shipment, which should be very soon. Sorry about getting your hopes up!

John

Plum,

Sorry about that disappointment.
The pains of being one of the newest members.
Did you buy the 532 in bone and ironwood from the club??
One of those might ease the wait. :)

When did you join. I think I did my lifer last summer. I was under the impression that you were the first part of this year.
Apparently, the Club recycles numbers or do they?
