BCCI March Newsletter

Thanks John!!

I did get my photocopy printed out and my order in for one each of the two BCCI 301's being offered.

Looking forward to those Buck knives….and to going back and reading the newsletter. :)

Ok, El Presidenta is waiting for you orders. No more than three of each model per person, with only 100 of each kind they will go fast. First post dates is first in line. You non BCCI guys will just have to find a BCCI friend.......Remember all blades BG-42..........300

Thank you kindly for the heads up John. This kind of big fun is like having a pocket full of diamonds. Two for me please. Check's in the mail.

Thanks John! My order for one each is on the way! :D Now, let's do some reading . . . nice Special Projects list.

Woohoo!
My check is in the mail for one of those awesome 301's :)
I have been anxiously waiting to order it :)

300.... I certainly hope you do not wait to order yours! You DESERVE a couple of those!

Filling out my order tonight for a couple and will be in the mail in the morning.

The mail lady picked up my letter with the check in it for one each of these 301's just a few minutes ago.

It's a done deal!! Looking forward to carrying a Buck 301 with BG-42 blades.

Now I just have to wait until June. The great thing would be to pick these up directly from John at Blade this year….if only I can work it out to be in Atlanta that time of year.

Mine is in the mail too. Since I only live about 30 miles from El Presidente it shouldn't take long to be delivered. Course I've had letters across town take a week.

My mail man just picked up my letter with a money order in it, to John (BCCI) for one of each...

Now the long wait...

So how many members are in the club now and how many of them are lifetime members... :)

My friends, please don't let me rain on your parade, but they are in the beginning process of being built. So, it is going to take some time. If I can get info on a date for your mail watch I will pass it on asap. BUT, if I do end up getting one I want someone to take time to get mine fixed "juuuuust" right. Right now it looks like May sometime. But, with the limited number as I said before, It could be you snooze you loose. I will be sure to pass along when the limits are reached if such a thing should occur and I win my free hotdog at the Blade Show.......300

PS I looks like we are below 180 left already.

Thanks 300!

And once again, I say you deserve at least one of these :)

Mail Lady just picked up my letter, and it is on the way after spending the night in the mailbox :)

I asked for one with the logo, and if there are still some unsold in may/june, then I would likely want one with the plain scales too.

I wonder if desert Dave's artistic wife can fit him holding the coyote at arms length on the scale of this knife? Remind me not to arm wrestle DD. :)

I dropped the envelope with order and payment for one of each in the box at the P.O. last night. The Club logo for me and the plain white micarta for the missus.

Should be well on its way to VA by now. Three BG-42 blades for the price of one! Sweet!

Most of the BCCI members, the vast majority of club participants have nothing to do with the internet or with the forum. I lost count of the members I met last Summer at the 25th that might have heard of the Buck Forum but had never visited it and had no plans to get online. All their club interface was in person, over the phone or thru the mail period. I was flabbergasted and surprised. Checking this forum seems as easy and natural as breathing to me. Why not check it out? Old skool collectors. You won't reach them online. Uh uh. Knock on their door, ring them up, send a letter thru the post office or get together at a meet.

Oregon, that is really sad to hear... It would be so cool to have a lot more BCCI members on the forum...

I took my lovely wife's ipad into some of the venues (ones with wifi) in order to introduce members to the forum. I showed it to folk, passed it around at dinner, and nobody said anything even close to a "wow" or a "I gotta have that" or anything clearly positive. Only us, you know who you are, enjoy this online emersion therapy/fun stuff. I am with you ITE: The more the merrier. There is a vast treasure trove of legacy, and new, cutlery to relish and ogle. Most we will never see, unfortunately. Perhaps one of you "I watch but don't participate folk" can explain the reluctance to go online and share collections/stories/experiences and the like.
