BCCI March Newsletter

I took my lovely wife's ipad into some of the venues (ones with wifi) in order to introduce members to the forum. I showed it to folk, passed it around at dinner, and nobody said anything even close to a "wow" or a "I gotta have that" or anything clearly positive. Only us, you know who you are, enjoy this online emersion therapy/fun stuff. I am with you ITE: The more the merrier. There is a vast treasure trove of legacy, and new, cutlery to relish and ogle. Most we will never see, unfortunately. Perhaps one of you "I watch but don't participate folk" can explain the reluctance to go online and share collections/stories/experiences and the like.

Sounds like they are the smart ones. You guys and this forum have sure cost be a lot of money ;)

But I do have a lot of beautiful Bucks to show for it.

Hi, Oregon in answer to your question, and of course I can only speak for myself. I am not too swift with the computer. which is to say I'm barely computer literate. add to that my lousy typing and you have the reason I don't post very often. perhaps it is time I put my two cents in a little more often .

Thank you kindly Red. I appreciate your candor. My ipad mini is pretty easy to use for me and it has a built-in camera so you only need the one gizmo. Some here just use their cell phone I understand. If you can post a photo I can tell you honestly that I will look at it. I love to see photos of cutlery. I don't always comment because so many others have much more to say than I have. Then other times I think I will bust if I don't get my message, boring or otherwise it might be, out to the members. You don't know what you will find here until you find it. For example, is there a camo Selector handle? I know that there are orange, green and black. But is there a camo one? Maybe someone knows the answer or even has one or a photo of one.

Badhammer, I used to earnestly believe that you shouldn't encourage another, or even yourself, to spend money that needs to go for living expenses on more cutlery. And that it is wrong to revel in things. However, I've changed. Due to the general obesity problem I now believe that it is helpful to promote cutlery consumption even if the money was meant for food. And it is a material world that we live in so it is impossible to avoid things so you might as well celebrate those things you prize. BTW, I am kidding Badhammer so everyone else: Keep the lights on before you splash out that dough on another folder.
