BCCI Members Discount Card

Ok, got it . Freight, Idaho to Indiana . Inorder to get my discount card I'd have to mail John a letter . Their trying different things . DM

I sent him an e-mail and asked if the offer was good for those of us who joined before they were giving out the cards. I havn't heard back yet.

What needs to be understood is that usually shipping from BKI to me is a small amount per knife (like $1 - $2). On occasion, Buck ships just one or two knives on an order, or partially fills a backorder and the entire $6 - $8 charge gets spread over only 1 or two knives. In the long run, my customers come out pretty good. Prior to 2009, when a dealer placed at least a $500 cost order, Buck paid all shipping. They apparently decided their profits were being impacted too much by that policy and changed to the policy now in effect.

Not meaning any affront or disrespect for what you do Larry, facts are facts. I just received a few minutes ago, two Vantage Avid 346GYS's from an online dealer. My cost delivered for the two came to $31.48 each. Had they come from you and if Buck had shipped for FREE, my cost would have been $40.30 each if the shipping from you to me stayed at $7.30 like last time.

I also have two of the Quickfires on their way that I bought online and they cost me $33.95 each delivered as compared to $41.76 from you using the club discount.

I could give several other examples from personal experience, but I think I've made the point I'm trying to make. The savings touted by being a BCCI member is, in my opinion, a myth.

I think that you have made your point very well also, and there is no doubt that some of Buck's most popular knives, like the 110 for example, can certainly be purchased more cheaply at some of the major knife discount stores, but what I really like about LO is his ability and willingness to order you some of the merchandise that these stores do not carry at what I would still consider to be about the lowest prices around.

and the funny thing is they limit you to 2 'discounted' knife purchases per yr. Why bother with such a small limit when the price is appreciably higher than dealer cost? The guy that sold those to you for 33.95 was presumably making a profit. If they are going to limit the number of orders to protect dealers (my assumption) then let's have some better prices.
