BCCI Newsletter delivery poll

Trax, very good points and from the number of forumites that are sending in those and other 110s and 112s for upgraded blades and reblades it would seem that Buck could stock those blades(drop point 110, premium steel 112 etc.) without much expense on their part. But, I certainly do not know anything of the business end of it. Preston

Me neither! ;) I've probably got it all wrong... I've spent my life in a blue collar environment on the shop floor; not a suit in an office...

Mail is still *collected* on Sundays...The box right outside your local PO is a Sunday collection, I'll bet...it should say the last collection time on it...
Hey Trax...I went to my "Post Office" this morning and the only thing it said on the box was..."Sunday-Gone fishin' or pig huntin'"...What does that tell ya about the area I live in??...LOL...:D ...Oh well...my check is on the top of the box which means that when they dump it to sort it , it'll be on the bottom, which means that my check might be found sometime in AUGUST 2006......LMAO...

Tells me I should be down there!!! Fish fry and pig roast!!! It just don't get much better than that!!! Par-Tay!!! :D :D :D

I received mine Friday evening, and took it back to the Post Office, with check enclosed, later that night. I think the Officers and Board Members of BCCI have a handle on the demand for Club issued knives. I believe I recently read in BF that John and Larry had finally sold all the 532's the Club had from several years ago. Our latest newsletter has an update that about 20 of the 196CC for 2005 are without "good homes"

I got mine this moring and just sent it. It won't go out till 4 pm this afternoon.:( My fingers are crossed!

i live here in florida. i got mine today monday the 5th, and i put it in the mail as soon as i could put it in a envelope.

Hi guys,
The club leadership greatly appreciates the interest and support shown by club members regarding the 110FG stag drop point in nickel silver. We try to pick desireable knives for fund raising projects. At the same time, we do not want to tie up club funds with so much excess inventory that the value of a special project will plummet. So, we do our best to pick something that will create demand while understanding that we may be wrong.
If orders exceed the 200 limit, there is nothing to say we could not request another small run from Buck. It would not be a problem to carry inventory of 20 or so of these knives as they will be wanted by future new members.
As a point of reference, the weekend mail brought orders for 25 of these knives.
By the way, our black and white newsletter pictures never do justice to how good the project knives actually look. John has the prototype and he says it is outstanding. I hope this puts minds at ease.

The quality should be on par with a 110 from the custom shop, right? Instead of say BG-42 and a clip point, you get S30V and a drop point. The price is about the same but you have something that's fairly unique. Is that right?

Is that 25 individual orders for one, or does it include the option to purchase additional if there are unsold knives??? ;)

I understood this was to be a "Limited Edition" knife with "only 200 produced"? That's what the newsletter said.

when the knife was announced in the other 'letter it stated that the possability then that there could be more then 200 then via a 2ed issue ...
larry said in a above post there would be no problum carreing a few all along... so it will not be a limited edition and they wont be numbered any way so it wont mater... and who knows it may be that it could devlope in to an balde option like some of the other blades did or be some thing that is offered to newbe's ... wonderfull looking knife awy way...

The BCCI orders, and pays for, those knives and if they don't sell them all, they will be stuck holding that inventory. They try to guess how many will sell and their crystal ball has been pretty good so far.

Thanks Larry and Joe. I guess I was just worried about not being able to obtain one as this is my dream 110. Just would like it in D2 steel.:D

...   ...

I dunno...Is that good or bad [for the BCCI!]??? How does that compare with previous offerings??? Is there a cutoff date that the order must be in by (or does that matter at all)???

Hmmmm...Maybe I better get my act in gear and get my order in before the other members send in their checks/money orders!!! :D

These knives are selling like hot cakes in Alaska!!! Man, anyone who wants one of "the first wave" better send their $$$ in faster than a fast thing going really fast!!!! ;) :D
