Anything in there about the status of last years club knives?

Hi 665ae,

A fellow named Scott Babowicz has a small note in this issue.....the note was written in late April 07. Remember that the etching supplier had a problem as they were using a new process and all of the etched blades were rejected by Buck. As a result.....it has been a rather long delay....But the note said they hope the knives will be in members hands by the beginning of summer.

I am kinda wishing mine wan't gonna have any etchings...kinda,,,sorta,,,,maybe..

... I see it's blade will be polished but I didn't note what steel was gonna be used. I'd guess it will be 420HC...anyone hear what it will be for sure yet??...

I am guessing it will be 420HC. That speculation based only on what I have heard about the hassle to get the other steels mirror polished.
"220, 230, whatever it takes".

Joe the Jake killer??? That was NEVER proven. I have no idea how the beard broke off on my long bearded tom. :o

The 2006 club knife has been a fiasco but we finally have shipped out some of them. Scott B. is our special projects guy and he is commited to getting these projects out on time in the future. I will hold him to that promise.
Just thought of something for those of you who will be at the Blade Show in Atlanta....so will Scott! I hope you will take a momment to shake his hand if you have not met him yet. Nice guy.

For those of you who like to dream up and wish for new versions of Buck knives and special projects, Scott Babowicz plays a MAJOR role in the design process for the Limited Edition knives. When I was doing research at Buck I always made it a point to find out what was on his desk and to discuss our thoughts on new projects. He is a good friend and someone well worth knowing. That doesn't mean you will get what you want but you may get some insight into the direction he is taking.
