I love my baldheaded,horned,chiped,110! Its on my belt right now! I cant wait for the next club knife to come... hope its a 112..But there is one for sale on Ebay: 267.00 and a few days to go yet..As a newbi I dont know how politicly correct it is to sell BCCi knifes.........Soooooo What is the Clubs position on selling club issue knives??? One reason why Im asking is I want to get all the past issue 112s Do I [should I] sneak around !![lol] I will say BUCK FEAVER is not all that bad of a condition to have, actualy it feels good! But I got turn some old baseball cards into Bucks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Buckway! The Buck Collectors Club actually puts out two types of knives. One is an annual club knife, with the member's number engraved, and each member can purchase only one each of these knives; few of these show up for resale. If you are a current member, you can log into the club's website and check out the March 2006 newletter which has a great article on the annual club knives. Secondly, the club also annually sells one or more special editions that are available for sale through the club only to club members, but these are not annual club knives (hope that makes sense). Club members are permitted to purchase more than one of these and many do just that, with the intent on selling them off afterwards at a considerable profit. So the answer to your question is "no", there are no guidelines to buying and/or selling either type of knife.

(BTW I'm not upset... just trying to explain the scenario of once its yours its yours.)

wh4f, if that situation ever arises again, I, for one, and I suspect many other BCCI members as well, would be more than happy to try to obtain an additional knife for you for your son at no additional expense. I always just order one (and sometime none at all if it is not a model I am interested in), so feel free to contact me in that regard if the need ever arises.

wow i am surprised this is not a more charged topic then has showed up so far..
some are sold by a dealer selling other knives...
and some by thoes that were able to pick up an extra.
one showed up and he gives a good reason for its sale... i hope he gets like the dealer got...

i have ordered more then one knife a number of times
and only ONCE did i sell one - for exactly what i paid for it to
David Yellowhorse who had not gotten his self one ...
i felt this was ok to sell and believe you me if it had not been David i would not have sold it then!!!!

other then that reason of selling an extra to someone that missed for some reason..
i find i feel VERY MUCH at odds with the notion of RE-selling them for profit..

i personally feel that to buy 2 and sell one to pay for the other
may be OK some of us dont have the disposable income that others do :o-
but only IF you are not a dealer.. but now that leaves the definition of what is a dealer wide open...
kinda sorta like:
i can't quite define beauty or sexy- but i sure knows it when i sees it... :D
"...and that's all i got's to say a-e-bout d-at..."

Seems that this thread may have gone a little awry from its original intent. In my initial response to Bucksway, I was not attempting to be either critical or judgemental of the fact that reselling occurs; I was simply reporting to him that it does indeed exist and that there is no club policy prohibiting it. My philosophy has pretty much always been if someone else has a knife for sale that you want and if you have the money to buy it, go for it!!

Thanks for the March newsletter tip! When I seen the ebay listing for the 07 BCCI [like mine] I was shocked at how much it went for! I even wondered if I should take mine off my belt! Thank goodness that thought passed in about 10 seconds.. In fact I am rathered tickled my EDC is so desirable. SO who else is putting there BCCI in EDC rotation?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One thing I am glad for is that the collectors club is NOT loaded with dealers who just want to profit from the clubs LEs .....I think its a good policy to limit sales to 2,and in rare cases [wh4f] where you might need another it sounds like other club members would gladly step in to help! I am not suprised that this latest BCCI LE is so desireable,Its truly a work of art.............

One final note on this thread, at least from my perspective. It APPEARS to me that Larry and Jack pretty much see to it, or at least attempt to, that every member that puts in an order for a knife receives at least one. At least, I have never heard of a BCCI member not receiving one that had actually ordered one. So I think that is done in a very fair manner. Then if there are extras (unsold ones), those appear to be filled by giving one extra, on a "first ordered" basis, to those that have requested more than one. And yes, I have heard of members not receiving more than the one that they had requested. So, the bottom line here is, I think, every ordering member typically gets their own one knife, but unfortunately sometimes that may leave one or more sons unfullfilled. I guess one way to solve that problem would be to sign the sons up for membership as well.

I gotta take wh4f and decaf's back on this one....I have been around long enough to know there are always gonna be a few opportunists but by-in-large us true BCCI guys self-regulate pretty well. I don't particularly like to see BCCI knives sell elsewhere but those few people that make a habit of profit-taking just don't get my business. I was a little nervous about two of the new chipped and speared and horned 110s sell when I was still waiting for mine to arrive. The up-side to the money-grubbers? Perhaps some one who buys a BCCI knife from the 'outside' may later become BCCI themselves and join our little party! That is after they recoup the funds after the good gigging they got on the knife ;^)

Bucksway....

I personally think it is bull sheet that peeps order them to turn a profit when others, like Jim, could've used another and appreciated it for what it meant to him. But, so long as people are willing to pay, people will be willing to sell. Profiteers.

And yes, you are correct TinSueSkipToMyLou...
Larry makes certain that all that want an initial one get that one before he sends out extras. I know cause I asked when I ordered mine as I wanted to be certain tthat all had received their initial order before I got my spare. I ordered way late and here were only two left at that time.

That being said, I did order two. One to use as an EDC and another for the time capsule. Beautiful knife.
But since Jim wants one, I have sent him an e-mail offerring to sell him my one with more "character" (swirls and a white mark that looks like a chip in the scale) for $300.00.

They go about $340 on the upperside, 'Goose. Sure ya' only want 3? ;^)

I tried REAL hard to buy the proto in Alanta, after the bid went past 200 I was out of it..334 who was the BCCI member who won the proto at the club meeting??? Wh4f, Its my favorite of ALL the 110s too !!! That why its my EDC, and every one I have showed it to has commmented on how neat it is.. Even NON-KNIFE people! It just has all of my favotite features in one knife....Love that bald head the most.
