sometimes it's easy to forget that new folk aren't accustomed to the "status quo" when it comes to special orders. Uncle asks for an "interest list" first, then begins taking prepayment. At the time, the interest was moderate and the intended supply, plentiful.
However, when half the order shows up....can't please everybody and somebody's going to get their feelings hurt.
I've always told anybody that's asked about a special order that if they really want to have it, they have to prepay.
The reason for the "no prepay necessary" comment above is that with some special orders, Uncle won't do the order unless it is
prepaid in full. We talked about this one, and the consensus was that there was enough interest to make the order without a prepay.
Basically it boils down to this - who's going to be the one to take the risk (put their neck on the line)?
If Uncle orders without prepay - it's him. We're asking for a huge favor to get these done in the first place, let alone asking him to pre-order without pre-payment.
I'm sorry if anyone's upset. If you really want one, email Yangdu and offer to prepay. She'll order one just for you.
