Go to http://www.speedtest.net/, and click "begin test". This will check your download/upload speed.
After the test is completed, click "share this result", then "forum", and then "copy". Paste the link in this thread.
And if you care to, tell us what ISP you have and how much you pay each month for internet access. I pay $50/month for upgraded "turbo" internet access through Time Warner, which gives me another 10 mb/s download speed above the 14 mb/s I was getting for $40.
25 mb/s download is hardly "turbo" in my book, but whatevs. I despise Time Warner, btw.
My city is on the list to possibly receive Google Fiber someday, and I'm going to be all over that like white on rice. But it is probably years into the future. It claims download speeds up to 1000 mb/s, though I would settle for a few hundred.
