Hi folks,
After much delay, I am finally able to join
BladeForums, after being goaded by my other
pals here (you know who you are;^)
Allow me to introduce myself. My real name is
Steve, but I go by Calvin Cooledge, Norm Daggere, Hayword N. Edgewise, Tim Buck II,
Burl Ivory, and Chamois Davis, Jr.
I am also a member of another list which I
won't mention here (TKCL) and have a considerable reputation as an amateur comedian, having attended the "Close Cover Before Striking Institute Of Home Comedy".
I have been a knife collector for 40 years,
seriously collecting since 1977. I go to shows
whenever I can and living in Atlanta makes me
the happiest knife collector in the world, at
least for 3 days a year;^) I collect mostly
custom knives, but love them all, and still have a few of my factory blades.
I am quoted in this months Blade Magazine, and
know a lot of people in the knife world. I hope to make EVEN MORE great friends here, as
my close personal friend, Gus Kalanzis, insists I will. I hope to learn a lot from you and can contribute a considerable amount, as well.
I'm excited about being here and thanks for
listening.

As the new guy here, you are obliged to purchase one knife each from all the custom makers who post here. I'm sorry, it is in the fine print.

dogman, we only do that to new whine and cheese forum members. Please go easy on the FNG. Calvin, we will settle for a link to pics of your knife collection

Calvin, any friend of Gus' is a friend of mine, no matter what he wants to call himself.

Kind of funny that you asked us to go easy on you. Do you know what the Cooledge Effect is to students of the autonomic nervous system?

Oh, I always give this advice to new guys: ignore the idiots!

Paracelsus, idiot

All right, now things are going to get interesting!

Especially since we already got a Steve-O!

Welcome aboard, Steve!

What a good fruend we have in Steve.Welcome aboard! Jerry, please favor us with details about the show you mention. Hotlanta is just a couple of hours down the road from these parts and I feel a roadtrip comin'on!

My best knife buddy has finally showed up.

Life is good!

We live a few blocks from eachother (actually a mile or so) and the internet was our meeting place.

Welcome Steve!

David - Blade Show.
Jerry - Steve and I will meet ya there.

This forum will be a better place with Steve hanging around.

For you old timers a little more background,
I think he has supported the Guild as an Honorary Member since the mid seventies, If you saw the guy wandering around the blade show with a sandwich sign reading. "Will watch knives for food" you have met Calvin aka Burl aka etc. (although he is a mere shadow of his former self). A picture of that stunt showed up in Blade a few years back if I am not mistaken.

FAIR WARNING
Do challenge him on puns, jokes, and word games - YOU WILL LOOSE

Off I go to change my signature line.
P.S. TKCL mentioning is more than cool here.

OK, forgive me if I mess up, this is my first
reply. I see lots of friends (Freunds) here.
One troubling thing is that there might be
another Steve-O on BF. I am the original Steve-O and I challenge you to a duel. How about wet noodles at 20 paces, high noon, November the 34th?

interviewed, try:

Thanks for your support! I'm excited to be here!

Welcome aboard Cool Cal! Looks like you're famous already with the good advice you gave in the magazine article.

I've got reservations already for the Atlanta Blade show, and maybe you could serve "on point" for those Emerson Customs that several of us attempt to locate!

Hope to meet you there early Friday morning! Glad to see you finally decided to join us!

The Flint River Knife Show is in association with the Georgia Mountain Productions Gunshow on February 18-19th in McDonnough, GA (about 20 miles SE of Atlanta Perimeter I285). Off I-75 take exit 221 turn right 1/4 mile to Atlanta Event Center on left. Rade Hawkins tells me they are expecting about 80+ custom makers.

For more information, call Georgia Mountain Productions, 706-216-7561. I've never been to that facility so the directions are as I wrote them down, not from a show brochure. Gus, can you confirm?

Welcome to the forums, CC. Nothing folks around here like better than another knife knut with discerning taste in knives and a good sense of humor.

Jerry,
You got it all right except thc 221 is off of I-75. (South of ATL.) looks like about 20 miles outside of I-285.

It was probably 7 years ago at the Blade show(or Bald show as Steve likes to call it) that I first met this man named Calvin Cooledge. I was standing in line at the Chic-Fil-A(everybody eats there. There's nowhere else to eat). I was equipped like I always am for these knife shows; neck knives, belt knives, bowie knives. Knives in my hands, knives everywhere on my body, and I turned around and saw that the guy standing behind me was a smiling bald man with almost the same amount of knives in his hands and on his person. We hit it off immediately and have been good friends(Freunds) ever since. You wont find a nicer guy. Great to have ya here, Stevebo.

You may think it's funny but wait till it's your turn.

Tut, trust me on this you are playing with fire. Do not even tempt him you'll drown.

You're a shell of a man for making that joke. You'd have to be nuts to take me on. I bet you are well known in the halls of Macadamia. You probably used to play with the Almond Brothers;^) But that's my o-pinon. And I'm sticking to it like Jif.
