I have like seven, every time im in an outdoor store at the regester they always have that bucket of biners on the counter; and i just cant resist; so its like oh aww a red one ; i could use one of those...any one else have to many damn biners???

250... assorted configs, colors and shapes... including about 20 heavy steel ones (those are a b*tch to carry around). If you climb or rappell, you go through the aluminum ones very quickly.

5 or 6! They work great when hunting/packing and I use them to secure gear on my ATV as well. Also have one that I put my keys on when running the river, and it has saved me alot of trouble on several occasions.

just make sure you are distinguishing between "carabiners" and clips... You can climb with 'biners... clips are for keys... and I only say this 'cause of the silly monkey I once saw using a small aluminium clip to belay for a rappel - don't think his rappin' partner was any too smart, either, as they were all set to go off of a local bridge...

Didn't stick around to see if it worked...

I don't have any, but if you want to, you can send me one (silver, please) so I can use it as a "key-ring", since my old leather key wallet is falling apart.:D.

Hi All-

One, massive, threaded heavy-duty, gray-anodized Petzl carabiner for which I'm still trying to find a use....plus a bunch of keychain-quality ones in a variety of colors.

Since I don't climb, I honestly thought I would find uses for the Petzl like attaching things to backpacks and stuff like that....but the need hasn't materialized yet. If anyone has any pics of non-climbing uses, that would be helpful. It does look cool, though.

Down to less than 50 now. Mostly Black Diamonds and Petzls. Think I have a couple of old BD Super 8s that I used to abseil with but it's been awhile. Probably have to rehang my nuts before attempting any serious climbing again.....

Hey- it's a climbing term! :D

I thread a toy 'biner on my belt, gate up, and snap my keyring on it. I used to clip a full-size aluminum carabiner on the handle of my briefcase/backpack, and clip it to the handle of a file cabinet in my office, so my bag was available and off the floor. I've also clipped it to small branches in the park :)

I know what you mean about collecting more everytime they're on the counter, usually dozens of them in a goldfish bowl. EMS is temptation all over the place anyway. There was a time I was good for $80 or so whenever I walked in the door.

I've still got a bunch of them. I also collected the screw-on ovals, in brass and in colored aluminum.

Oh man, I thought I was the only one. I don't climb and I don't plan on climbing any time in the near future, but carabiners are just so cool (and useful) I can never resist. I must have 5 or 6, Petzl, Black Diamond and DMM. I'm currently eyeing up a Omega Pacific Jake Jr. autolocker for my keys, the just never come up on Ebay.

I have over 400-

They are organized into six separate racks-

Alpine Rack- 32 ltweight wiregate biners and 10 assorted anchor biners
Free climbing Traditional Rack - 50 biners plus 12 racking biners
Free climbing sport Rack - 24 biners in 12 quickdraws and 6 anchor biners
Ice climbing Rack - 36 biners and 10 anchor biners
High angle rescue Rack - 100 biners and 20 anchor biners
Aid Climbing Rack - 140 biners and 20 anchor biners

I have 30 plus toy biners for various key chains as well.

They are an assortment of Petzl, Black Diamond, DMM, SMC, Wild Country, Omega Pacific, and Kong.

Talk about your heavy metal!

4 - I have them on the tiedowns in my pickup truck. The tiedowns are too small to get a ratchet strap on.

I'm STILL waiting...:D.

I have 2 Clogs in my backpack, but a dozen or so accessory biners. Always carry my keys clipped to one of them. I have 4-5 all over the place on my fishing vest, several on my backpacks... you get the picture!
