Be Jealous Boys.

Very cool. I remember going on survival outings when I was in Boy Scouts. We would do similar stuff as far as making shelter, finding food and safe water etc.

Unfortunately, I've been out of scouts for too long to remember a lot of the survival tactics. Are there any good references on the net that you can link me to?

My son and his classmates in April. This year my son's class did wilderness survival for their Outdoor school. They learned shelter making, fire making, plant ID, water find and orienteering. I got to go along as a chaperone and helped out a little. Most fun I ever had in school!!!

Thanks for this post! It is cool to see how other people get out and enjoy the woods. I did some of this type camping when I was involved with Boy Scouts and it is good and practical experience to have! Looks like a sturdy shelter and dry place to sleep but I wonder if the logs were uncomfortable to lie on for a whole night. Thanks so much for the great pics!

Awesome! Looks like a great time was had!
