careful when you do business with darkknight331@yahoo.com (scott/matt perry)

here is the story:

Darkknight posted on knifeforums.com that he's looking for the Ontario Bagwell Drifter bowie (spear point), he mentioned that
he wanted it lower than AG Russell's price of $165, I offered to get him one for $140, I made it clear that I will order the bowie first at my cost then ship it to him. This was agreed.

I notified him on the 15th of Jan. that the bowie had arrived in my hands and is ready to ship out. He replied that the money order would go out the next day, the 16th.

during the preceding week, he had emailed me saying that he is actually the brother of the email account holder scott perry, that his name is matt perry and scott is in the hospital right now and this bowie was to be a gift for his recovery.

two weeks passes with no email or money order. I email him back asking him to let me know what is going on. As of today I have received no further communication from him.

So now I'm out of my cost on the bowie and still have it unless I can get rid of it. My only consolation is at least I didn't ship the bowie then not get paid.
 
Sorry you were stuck with it. Drop me an email. May be able to at least square you out of it.
If there are concerns about you being a basic member and my offer, someone may express them. However, I think the spirit of your post was a true expression of a deal gone sour.

I sent Scott Perry a knife I had advertised on another forum on 12/22/03.He claimed the money order was sent shortly there-after.After sending several e-mails to him,I get a reply from his brother Matthew saying Scott was in an auto acident on New Years Eve and he(mathew) would take care of all Scott's matters and a new M.O. would be on it's way.Scott supposedly used that knife to cut his girlfriend out of the wreckage.He then several weeks later,replied to another of my e-mails saying much of the US Mail Scott sent out was stolen from the Post Office by his ex-wife.I still am out the cost of a knife plus shipping and my trust in my fellow man is now being questioned.I sure hope that we aren't the victims of a scamm artist! sorry for rant but I'm very upset.tom.
 
Which one of you computer guru's can figure out where this lowlife scumbag resides?!?

I was only told that scott was in the hospital but will be coming out of it. matt wanted the knife as a gift for when he recovers. I didn't know that this was the story that has been going around.

I actually debated about posting this thread, though now I'm glad I did. I was afraid that after I posted, the first response would be that scott passed away and that was the breakdown in communication, then how crappy would I feel. now it looks like it's just some BS he's been passing off.
 
I didn't want to post either and look like some whiner but geez.I'm still hoping he sees the error of his ways and ante's up with everyone.tom.
