Hello all,

I just replaced my leaky old second hand Harbor Freight blast cabinet with a new ALC top loading molded plastic cabinet. The cabinet came with a gun, the metal siphon tube, and the rubber hose that connects the siphon tube to the gun, but NOT with the connectors that fit in the hole in the side of the cabinet, the air hose that runs to the side of the cabinet from the gun, or the threaded connector that attaches the air hose to the gun.

The owner's manual says that these are not included, and you must supply them yourself. It looks to me like I can buy hoses and connectors at Lowes, but looking at the old pieces from the Harbor Freight cabinet, the hose appears to be a specialty item - both ends have inserts in them that reduce the diameter of the hole that air flows through to far less than the interior diameter of the hose.

I've looked at every site I could find that sells blasting accessories, but none lists these parts. I can use the old Harbor Freight parts for now, but the old hose is on the verge of cracking.

Can someone who knows more about blasting than I (that would be just about anyone) point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

there is Sioux tools that carry reinforced hose for blasting and granite city tool that i know of

I would just pick out the hose and fittings YOU want to run and use them as long as the can thread into the gun. I would use a heavier grade reinforced hose inside the cabinet. If you find you need air flow control get a regulator and mount it right on the outside the cabinet.

Thanks, guys. I'll try the stuff from Lowe's and see how it works out.

I also bookmarked the link. Looks like lots of good stuff!
