has any one try this ? i had the bead blaster going, and so i blasted the hard crap of one of my knifes and it was made easer sanding it off, than the hard crap.

I usually blast the scale off of my knives, makes belts last a little longer and it's faster than soaking them.
 
I do all of my heat treating at Alan Folts' shop and blast with his cabinet. I'm not sure of the details of his setup, but I can ask him next week.
