I have a piece of CPM 154, and am in the process of making a knife out of it. Can the finish be bead blasted? I know on tool steel, it isn't a good idea, how about stainless? Thanks!

Works just fine! Turn down the pressure for glass beads. They will last longer. I'm using aroung 60-75 psi. For sand blasting, I use 90-11- Psi. Here are a couple of cord wrapped oldies that were Carried in Desert Storm. Mike

Ps The cord wrapping looked a little better when I sent them out. Mike

I thought beed blasting was o.k. even on tool steel but not sand because sand cuts but beeds have more of a peining polishing effect. This was in the blade mag 2007 febuary issue. As being used for tactical knives. Hottest Blade Finishes
