Bead blasting question.

I want to sandblast a finished knife to put on a cerakote coating. My concern is the sharpened edge. Will sandblasting damage the edge? What do I need to do to protect it?

sharpen it again when you are done... i'm under the assumption that between the carakote and sandblasting you may need to touch a few things up at the end
