Just got the Bear 3 yesterday. Haven't put it into heavy use yet, only used it to cut some odds and ends stuff such as cardboard boxes and kitchen foodstuff.
Some observations:
Handle - the birch bark handle feels nice and VERY comfortable. Because the handle is tapered towards the end butt, the effective gripping length may be too short for people with big hands.
Knife - the knife is mirror-finished and sharp.
One thing that is very striking from the outset -- the knife feels so light in the hand and the handle is so pleasant to the touch! I haven't come across such a comfortable handle for a long time.
You will appreciate the handle even more when holding the knife in cold weather.
All in all, a very nice knife and I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Congrats for making such a fine knife! :thumbup:
