Hello all -

This is my first post in the knife section, so take it easy on me. I am an axe and hatchet guy.

So i bought a Bear and Son knife recently, it is model 504, 3 1/2" Sideliner Lock Genuine India Stag Bone™ w/Pocket Clip
. Nice knife overall. I had previous Bear knives, and always had good luck with them.

So I have owned knives since I was a kid, all practical, nothing fancy. This one I like a lot, but the lock wont hold the blade. I found out the hard way 2 days ago, when using it the blade came right back to close position. Upon examanation, the metal lock that slides over to keep the blade open slips to side when enough pressure is applied, and now barely works to keep it open.

So couple questions - did I somehow mess the locking mechanism up? Is there anything I can do to fix this? I thought about trying to bend the locking part over, but wasn't sure if that was the answer. Should I contact the manufacturer to see about a new knife?

Like I said, never had anything like this happen before, just wanted to get some opinions as to what to do.

Thanks for the time, sorry for the bother.
