B.S. :-) 45 Long Colt will blow up in your face loaded that hot. Thats a 100% accurate fact. The cylinder pressure is too high.
The only hot loads I've ever seen that are even close to being that hot are with the Thompson Center Contender and even then, the cases will often split because of the high chamber pressure. I've also hand loaded for many type of revolvers and autos, since I was about 14 years old. I would not trust any load data found on the internet or from anyone on an internet forum. There is a 45 Colt Mag but we are talking about a completely different load and these are not cowboy action type pistols. The 45 Mag is close to the 44 mag performance.

You are 100% totally wrong. My Ruger Blackhawk loaded with the Buffalo Bore 325gr hardcast hits 1349fps average with its 5.5 inch barrel, i know this cause i own a chrony.

You may have handloaded since you were 14 but apparently you missed a bunch becuase that load isnt even that new, its been around for quite awhile now and there are many hot 45 long colt rounds out there for Ruger Blackhawk and Redhawks.

The 45LC hot loads surpass the 44mag in power

mmm.. Bear donuts.

I'm gonna get a big bag of bear donuts and go down to the zoo. I'll sit right down on the bench in front of the bear cage and gorge myself. Yeah, they'll get the message. "Nice winter fat layer you have there. Sure hate to see anything happen to it." (chomp chomp slurp)

Hahaha

Still on top of the food chain up here but Black bears are scavengers and will come from miles for an easy meal. Unfortunately the dogs are usually the ones who get the rough end of the deal.

Play dead or not to play dead....this is the question?

I'm glad she is okay.
Play dead with a Grizzley (usually territorial) and fight back/scare a black bear

In the Marcy Dam area of New York's Adirondacks, the bears are smart and thorough. This area and its bears are known by the bear canister companies and mentioned in their literature.

I've hiked through this area and camped in it many times, all without incident. The bears did indeed go through my camp, knock around my bear canister and nudge my tent. A Fox 40 whistle eventually drove them away (probably to another site where the campers didn't stash their food away as carefully).

If you are smarter than the next guy and more careful with your food and smelly stuff (no, not our socks!), 99.999% of the time you will be fine. Bears are like thieves and will go for the easy grab. Luckily there are many careless hikers roaming the woods.
