Bear grylls is the real deal! (VID)

Well, no one gives Bear more grief than the Brits do on their 'Bushcraft' forum. I enjoy his shows - entertainment - and, a return to my childhood; "Hey, let's see if Mikey will eat/drink THIS!".

Well, he did overcome that broken back to climb Everest... and last spring, he did powered parasail to top Everest... pretty impressive. He won't, of course, stay in a 'Holiday Inn Express'... his 'survival' likely depends on room service.

Les Stroud is the real deal - lives 'off the grid', no less. See, making music video's can pay off! Seriously, I like his shows... okay, not so much Katrina/New Orleans 'survival'. His big buck Buck 119 - cost less from Wally World ($34!) than Bear's knife's shipping to the states would run.

PS Re banishment... as the great Rodney King once said, "Can't we all just get along??".

At least he's got an orang that understands him. I've got these three chimps who refuse to learn anything I try to teach.

maybe in the future we can have a sticky, but Spark likes them kept to a minimum. I can think of more important things to make sticky than an anti-Bear Grylls thread. If anyone comes aboard and asks, we're all here to correct any mis-impressions immediately anyway.

Problem seems to be that a sticky gets read about as little as any other post.

Second best place to hide a thread: at the end of the list.

Best place to hide a thread: in a sticky, at the top.

Watchful, I forget about my own stickies sometimes! I also see more responses right when i release it and it travels down the queue on the list.

Your screen name is appropriate for sure!

I should be named "Lateful" for being behind in emails...;) :D

BUZ, I just issued you an infraction for trolling. Please don't waste our time. People here were not being smart aleck, they were telling you this has been done before. And, you have been a participant in the most recent Bear G discussions. Perhaps you should look through your own posting history to remind yourself of what you've already done. Nobody has time to do your searches for you.

Brian,

As a father of three young children, I have to really applaud how patient and long-suffering you are as a moderator. I've enjoyed watching you in action in a number of threads, and appreciate the light but deft touch you employ.

It's something I'm working on employing with my kids! Maybe I should start issuing infraction points to them....oh wait, that must be what time out is.

Everything you see on TV is real. I believe it all. I even got a Bear Knife and it floats in mid-air. Oh you pathetic doubters!

You know, for a ridiculously over-priced hotel survival knife, that is actually a pretty cool looking blade. I'd be willing to spend up to $50 for something like that!

You interested?

I agree. We can't sticky everything.

And even if we did, you can be there'd be three or four more Bear threads each year, asking us if we know about this guy and what our opinion is. 'Cuz if you won't use the search tool here, you won't use the "sticky tool" either.

Further, I suspect that stickies discourage newer members from posting new information or asking good questions. I would hate that. I've long lost count of how many times a new member has asked a really stunning question!
