That's the funny thing about fear, statistics and reality..... If I were to go by probability and statistics, I would wear a body armor, stop driving, move out of the city, not eat red meat and run my food through a blender.

Whoa, whoa man, easy. All we were talking about was taking common sense precautions while out in the bush. No more or less than making sure that your vehicle tires are inflated properly, and engine oil is within spec, for a long road trip. I wish you a good day bud.

Dooooooooooood, I was just messin around. I don't think I elluded to disregarding potential danger.

I am being playfully satirical by saying things like folks who are adamant about the need for protection in the wild shouldn't be riding bicycles without helmets.

Personally, I take certain areas of safety very seriously. For instance, you will rarely see me in the woods without as pair of safety glasses on. Maybe it comes from almost 2 decades of working in a shop environment? How easy would it be to catch a twig or spark in the eye? I have never felt the need for a firearm in the woods... but that may change should I ever take up bear hunting or move to Yellowstone.:thumbup:

Yeah, a lot of our posts intended to be good natured humor don't always translate well between input and reading. I know I've made my share of posts that someone misconstrued. Like one I made about that scary Magnusen avatar.

Just shows how much is lost without eye contact, body language and voice inflection. My lesson is not to get the quills up so easily. And maybe use a few more of these.
