I came across this knife on the auction site. I had I came across this knife on the big auction site. I had never heard of this company before. Can you tell me if these are good, bad, decent?

Bear and Sons is an actual manufacturer who manufactures in the US.

I have a "Remington" lockback made by Bear and Sons. (Legit knife. They are licensed to manufacture for Remington.)
Decently made. Locks up good. 440A steel. Not too pricey.

That being said, I have heard mixed reviews on knives made under their own brand.

They were licensed to produce the Remington branded knives after Camillus went out of business. Compared to the other US traditional knife manufacturing companies (Great Eastern, Queen/Shatt & Morgan, Canal Street, Case), I would place them at the bottom of that list. I have looked at their knives and suspect I own a Remington made by them (Big Daddy Barlow), but generally I would buy something like Rough Rider before buying Bear & Sons branded knives. The Remington is okay. I would generally only buy in person after handling.

Bear & Sons could produce a better knife. Dealers like Knives Ship Free will not sell their products and I value their opinion. They only stock pretty good stuff overall.

They are located in Alabama. Jim Parker built the factory and sold it to Bear.

It's nice that there butterfly's fall into that magical "not junk cheap or ridiculously expensive" range that most are. Middle of the road quality and price point. The trainer is like 25 bucks.
