Well, not sure really what to call her but here she is. We'er a little proud of this piece. A whole lot of forge welding in it, I mean a lot. The body is mild steel with a high carbon cutting bit of 1065. Welded by hand in a coal forge  The head is 5 1/2" long with a cutting edge of 5 1/4" wide and etched to an aged patina :D Shes a heavy duty gourd thumper, not for the faint of heart. The haft is nice curly maple 19" long. Stained with aqua fortis and finished with boiled linseed oil. It has a simple edge protector with it. We are asking $215 plus $10 shipping for this one. Our email is phllpwest@bellsouth.net
Thanks and have a great day...

This is my grail ax. If last's until next Thursday, I'll definitely buy it. If it sells before then, I'll have to talk to you about making another one.

What does "bearded" refer to in this axe ?
thanks, i might 'need' a custom axe to go along with my custom knives.

Bearded refers to the way the edge extends down so far below the normal range for a hawk. Looks good!
