Hand forged from an old ball peen hammer head (10 oz?). I picked this hammer head up from an estate sale at an early 1900's (Greek Revival architecture) mansion. One of two hammers I purchased there ...the other was a claw hammer. Purportedly, the mansion's 'claim to fame' was that Clark Gable and Carole Lombard had stayed there.
Anyways ...high carbon tool steel, hardened and tempered. Narrow and lightweight cherry haft. Very quick in the hand.
OAL = 19"
Head length = 6"
Spike length = 2 1/4"
Cutting edge = 2 9/16"
Haft = Cherry (approx 9/16" x 15/16" x 17")
Price = $135 + shipping ***SOLD!*** payment pending. Thank you very much!
