Bearded War Axe - "Eldingar"
Steel: Reworked antique axe head.

This axe was reworked from an antique head by forging and grinding. It was re-heat treated with selective hardening at the edge and finished by masking and deep etching a lightning pattern. The darker finish near the edge is due to the hardened steel etching darker than the unhardened body.
Eldingar means "Lightning" in Icelandic. The left side of the haft says "Eldingar" burned in Elder Futhark runes. The right side is a burned bindrune meaning "Relentless Attack".
The Sheath is black leather with Norse knot tooling, nickel silver rivets, and a Sam Brown stud closure
I intended this axe as a collectors piece but it is fully functional and capable of hard work.
